"God who gave us life gave us liberty."
-Thomas Jefferson, from 'The Rights of British America'

"Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction
that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I
reflect that God is just, that
his justice cannot sleep forever."
-Thomas Jefferson, from 'Notes on the State of Virginia'

In Memory of a Fallen Hero

king
I will protect you with my last breath,
When all others have left you.
Together we conquered all those who wished
Harm to others. All of our days together.
I was the sword at your side, I was your friend
I will remain ever vigilant, ever loyal.
And when our time together is done.
And I move on from this world.
Remember me with kind thoughts and tales.
For a time we were unbeatable.
Nothing passed by us, undetected.
If we should ever meet again on another field,
I would gladly take up your fight.
I was a guardian of the night; I was a Police Dog… End Tour Of Duty: January 20, 2005
